International Coin Offer: More than any other single painter, Pablo Ruiz Picasso changed the direction of art, inaugurating cubism and collage into the modernist style.
On the occasion of the 50ᵗʰ anniversary of the passing of Picasso, the Royal Mint of Spain created a collection of commemorative coins featuring some of his most famous works.
The collection is made up of six square silver coins with a face value of €10, which represent these Picasso masterpieces: “Waiting (Margot)”, “Weeping Woman’s Head with Handkerchief (III)”, “Jacqueline seated”, “Woman in blue”, “Harlequin” and “Bullfight”. The common obverse is also impressive with a portrait of Picasso along with his facsimile signature.
