About
Mark 50 years of ‘minted in Winnipeg’ excellence with these special-issue collectible coins.
Join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of our Winnipeg facility! A distinguished tribute, this set of non-circulation pieces—coins designated as collectibles, so they’re not meant to be found in your pocket change—honours Canada’s iconic coinage, as well as the place where these national symbols are expertly struck. It features Canada’s six coin denominations, with the classic $2 piece replaced by a special Toonie anniversary edition. On each coin’s obverse, the “W” mint mark is the identifying symbol of our Winnipeg facility, which produces Canadian circulation coins—and those of many other countries—since 1976; it also represents the innovative spirit and craftsmanship that have defined half a century of Canadian coin production.
Marking a milestone with the “W” mint mark.
Special features

The “W” mint mark—a rare sight
On every coin, the “W” mint mark indicates it was proudly struck at our Winnipeg facility. As the only “W” mint mark set in 2026, this is our way of “marking” a milestone for the facility that has produced Canada’s coinage since 1976.
