The reverse design by Canadian artist Anna Bucciarelli features an artistic interpretation of the ruby-and-diamond central pendant of the Baring Ruby Necklace (centre), and the vertical diamond motifs (outer row) of Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara—both iconic jewels that reflect the dignity, strength and enduring legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Floral scrollwork incorporating a maple leaf and Tudor rose surrounds the four effigies that graced Canadian coins throughout her historic reign, presented in reverse chronological order (clockwise from the top): the uncrowned portrait (2003-2023) by Susanna Blunt; the diademed effigy (1990-2002) by Dora de Pédery-Hunt; the tiara effigy (1964-1989) by Arnold Machin; and the laureate effigy (1953-1964) by Mary Gillick. The obverse features a guilloché pattern and the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
