If you are already a member by January 1, 2021 (launch of new program), then you do not need to opt-in to the new 2021 Masters Club loyalty program.

I am currently not a Masters Club Member; do I need to opt-in to the new Masters Club Program?

Yes. You must first register for an account and opt-in on Mint.ca, then spend a minimum of $250 in Qualifying Purchases to start earning points.

Why do I need to provide my email address?

By providing us with your email address, you will ensure that you never miss promotions, personalized offers and event invitations, as well as the exclusive Masters Club newsletter. You will receive Masters Club related emails for promotions, personalized offers, tips and event invitations. You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of one of our emails.

Do I have to provide my birthday and birth month?

Providing your day of birth and month is one way to enjoy the benefits of being a part of the Masters Club, but is optional. We collect your day of birth and month so that we can brighten your special day with a small gift from us. If you would like to be excluded from participating in this Masters Club benefit but have previously input your birthday information in your account profile, visit Mint.ca to remove your day of birth and month from your account.

Can I have more than one Masters Club account?

No. The creation of multiple accounts associated to the same client is strictly forbidden.

How can I be sure my personal information will remain confidential?

The Royal Canadian Mint processes your information very carefully and makes sure to respect all confidentiality regulations. Please read our confidentiality policy for more details.

I am not a Canadian nor an American resident. Can I still register?

No. Unfortunately, the Masters Club Program is open to individuals who are residents of Canada or the United States only.

How many points can I earn for my purchases?

For every one dollar ($1) spent on Qualifying Purchases, you will earn points. Your Master’s Club level will determine the exact points-per-dollar rewards earned. See the benefits chart on mint.ca/loyaltyprogram for more details.

How are base points calculated?

You receive base points for each dollar of the net value spent on Qualifying Purchases. The base points awarded will vary depending on your level, see chart below:

You receive base points for each dollar of the net value spent on Qualifying Purchases.

Additional notes:

  • If the value is 0.5 or higher, the decimal is rounded up.
  • If the value is 0.49 or lower, the decimal is rounded down.
  • For example, if you are a Gold level and purchase an eligible product at $29.95, you will earn 10 points on per $1 spent. In this example, you will earn 300 pts. Taxes and shipping charges are excluded from earning points.

What do I have to do to earn points?

With the exception of Masters Club members at the launch of the new Masters Club loyalty program who do not need to opt-in, in order to start earning points you must first be registered for an account, then opt-in to the program on Mint.ca. You then need to spend a minimum of $250 in Qualifying Purchases to start earning points.

As a solution measure, and not as common practice as long as you are enrolled and are a Bronze level Member or higher at time of completing a Qualifying Purchase, you can earn points. Contact the Royal Canadian Mint call centre or visit one of our boutiques in the same Program Year the purchase was made. Please contact the channel where you made the original purchase.

You can redeem your points by logging into your account on Mint.ca. On the Masters Club platform, add your desired coin purchase to the shopping cart, then on the "Checkout Page," select "Redeem Your Points." Using the drop-down, choose how many points you would like to redeem.
  • Other:
You can also redeem your points by contacting your Premium Account Representative, visiting one of the two-rcm retail locations in Winnipeg or Ottawa or via the call centre.

How can I calculate the value of my points?

To evaluate your exchange value, divide your points balance by 1,000 and keep the first two decimal to obtain the exchange value.

When can I start using my points?

In order to be able to use your points as a method of payment during a transaction, you must have a minimum balance of 1,000 points.

What can I buy with my points?

You can buy any Eligible Products. An “Eligible Product” is any Royal Canadian Mint product with the exception of: (i) regular circulation coin rolls, such as any roll of five-cent coins, ten-cent coins, twenty-five cent coins, one-dollar coins and two-dollar coins; (ii) any commemorative circulation coin products sold as circulation coins (for example, any commemorative circulation coin product sold at face value); (iii) gift cards and sponsorship event cards, (iv) any products and services for which a personalized invoice was issued, (v) bullion products, and (vi) any excluded products and services identified by the RCM from time to time.

Can I use the points I earn when making a purchase towards that same purchase?

No. Points earned are awarded to your account once the transaction has been invoiced. You can therefore only put the points towards a future purchase.

What happens if my points balance is greater than the total value of my purchase?

Only the point’s value equivalent to the amount of your purchase will be deducted from your balance. For instance, if your balance shows 15,350 points and your bill is $10.00, then 10,000 points (a value of $10) will be deducted from your balance. You will then have 5,350 points left in your account. Redemption points cannot be used to pay taxes.

Can I redeem points towards taxes and/or shipping?

No. Points cannot be used to cover the taxes and/or shipping on your Qualifying Purchases. For example, if you make a Qualifying Purchase of $10, the $1.30 in taxes cannot be covered by your points, therefore you cannot redeem 15,000 points ($15 equivalent), towards the transaction. You can however redeem $10 towards the transaction, but must cover the taxes with another form of payment.

Can I redeem only a part of my points balance, or do I need to redeem my full balance?

You can split the cost of your Qualifying Purchase between points and your payment method of choice. Points can only be redeemed in increments of 1,000; the remaining points will carry forward on your account.

For example, you may redeem points towards Qualifying Purchases in increments of 1000 points. If your bill totals $10 and your balance shows 4,000 points. If you decide to use your points to pay, you can use 2,000 points to save $2 and keep 2,000 points for later. Points cannot be redeemed towards the payment of taxes or shipping.

I received bonus points, but I have not seen any promotions. Is that possible?

Absolutely! If you are a level Bronze or above, and have provided us with your birthday and month, you will receive bonus points in your birth month. Providing us with your day of birth and month is optional.

Do points have an expiry date?

No. As long as your account is active, you will not lose the points you have earned, even if they have been in your account for a very long time.

However, you need to make sure your account remains active if your account is inactive for two years, (no points earned or redeemed transactions during this time), your account will be closed and your points will be cancelled.

What happens to the points I have earned if I get a refund for a product?

When a refund takes place, the number of points awarded during the original transaction will be deducted from your point balance. In the event some Eligible Products purchased under a single Qualifying Purchase are returned in accordance with the Royal Canadian Mint’s return policy, Members will be reimbursed the amount of money used to complete the transaction first, and then reimbursed with points to equal the new net value of the Qualifying Purchase

I want to return a product that I purchased with my points. Will my points be reimbursed?

In the event all Eligible Products purchased under a single Qualifying Purchase are returned in accordance with Royal Canadian Mint’s return policy, you will be refunded the same amount of points and money used to complete the initial transaction.

In the event some Eligible Products purchased under a single Qualifying Purchase are returned in accordance with Royal Canadian Mint’s return policy, Members will be reimbursed the amount of money used to complete the transaction first, and then reimbursed with points to equal the new net value of the Qualifying Purchase.

What happens to my points balance if I exchange a product for another product of a higher value?

Exchanges will be treated like a return and then a sale. The number of points corresponding to the value of the difference will be added to your balance.

What will happen to my points balance if I exchange a product for another of a lower value?

Exchanges will be treated like a return and then a sale. Royal Canadian Mint will reduce your points balance by the number of points corresponding to the difference between the two products. For example, if you exchange a product with a $15 value for another product with a $10 value, $5 worth of points will be deducted from your point balance.

Where can I see the total amount of points I have accumulated?

What happens if I decide to leave and/or terminate my Masters Club Loyalty Program account?

You may opt out of the MC Program at any time by contacting the RCM call centre. Opting out of the MC Program does not automatically close the associated Mint.ca account. Once a Member has opted out of the MC Program that Member’s MC Program account will be dormant for a period of twenty-four (24) months and no points may be earned or redeemed during this time. During this period, the Member may contact the RCM call center to rejoin the MC Program and if they do so, the points in the Member’s account as of the date they opted out will be reinstated subject to the Points Expiry provision laid out in the program Terms and Conditions. If no action is taken by the MC Member to rejoin the MC Program during the twenty-four (24) months dormancy period, the Member’s MC Program account will be terminated and all points associated with the account – that may remain - will automatically and irrevocably expire and no further benefits or other rewards will be provided to the Member. Once a Member’s MC Program account has been terminated, it cannot be reinstated. Customers wishing to return to the MC Program will have to open a new MC Program account.
